HOW You Say Affirmations Change Everything
[00:00:00] Hey guys, welcome back to the Ivemanifest podcast. I'm your host, Sheila. And in today's podcast episode, we're finally going to be talking about affirmations. And if you haven't noticed I've been hinting at this episode in my last few podcasts, because affirmations have completely changed my life. They complained.
[00:00:26] They've completely changed how I perceived my life, how I think literally everything in my day to day mindfulness, when I am reminded and I am being mindful. Um, it has changed everything for me. So let's get right into this podcast episode. So what are affirmations? So I looked up the Google definition of.
[00:00:52] What an affirmation is. So the first one they have is it is a noun and [00:01:00] affirmation means the action or process of affirming something or being affirmed. And the next definition is emotional support or encouragement. So what are affirmations? That is the Google definition, but if you live in the world of spirituality, And the law of attraction.
[00:01:19] You've, might've heard of affirmations as these, um, phrases that you say to yourself, usually starting with I am and they. Affirm something that you want to believe, something that you want to manifest and something that you want to become. So, and then definition the action or process of affirming something or being affirmed.
[00:01:43] That's pretty straightforward and actually matches what we think affirmations are in the spiritual world and the law of attraction world. And I say the law of attraction world, because when I first found out about the law of attraction about year and a half ago, almost going on to two years, [00:02:00] I first heard of affirmations as a way to manifest.
[00:02:04] And this is perfect. This is beautiful. And I definitely agree with this because your words do create your reality. Now the way or the way, the reason why I wanted to talk about affirmations today in particular was because I wanted to. Um, share my experiences with affirmations and the way that you say them and how you say them and how they affect everything for you.
[00:02:31] So your words create your reality. We have this basic understanding that what you speak, what you feel, what you think literally creates your 3d world. So our words are these let's say. Scripts that we write for ourselves for our daily reality. And when we are here and we want to manifest something, we could use affirmations and normally, and how I first found out about them too, [00:03:00] was by saying, I am, so you start by saying, I am wealthy.
[00:03:03] I am successful. I am a spiritual person. I am this. I am that kind of like identifying, labeling yourself. Or attracting what you want to be labeled as through this affirmation format. Right. But I wanted to say one way that I've noticed affirmations really work is when you say them naturally. So forget the I am okay.
[00:03:30] The I am is beautiful. The I am is perfect, but let's think. How do we normally talk when we're talking during the day, do we go and say, I am this, I am that I am this, I am that I am walking the dog. Well, you could say that, but normally it's something casual. It's like, oh, I'm walking the dog right now. Um, I'm going to the grocery store.
[00:03:51] Oh, um, I gotta pay my bills. I gotta do this. I gotta do that. And when you say stuff and you speak about yourself or what you are, it's very [00:04:00] natural. It's very. Flowing. It's not something that you have to think about because it's just who you are. You don't think twice about it. So when we see affirmations and we write them down and we script them and we try to remember them, because this is something that I used to do, we write, I am wealthy.
[00:04:18] I am a millionaire. I am successful. I am all these things. And, and in a sense, it's kind of almost fogging what we really want. A structured format that we are trying to get used to a structured format there. We're trying to learn ourselves. And what I found out about affirmations is the way that you say them and how you see them is incredibly life-changing.
[00:04:48] You know, you could say an affirmation and start by saying, I am wealthy. Let's say I am wealthy. Right? You're saying it a thousand times, and you're saying a bunch of different variations [00:05:00] of I am wealthy and it's not going to feel real and it's not going to feel natural. It's going to feel like I'm practicing affirmations right now.
[00:05:07] And I want this to be true. What I've noticed though is when I say my affirmations in a flowed way, in a normal sense of speaking, they actually become more real and realistic in my life. So for example, Let's say I, oh, this is a good one. I just talked to my last podcast episode about increasing your income, or I know the power within.
[00:05:33] So the one before that was about increasing your income and the way I said that affirmation was my income increases every single month. So I didn't say I am increasing my income every single month. I said my income increases every single month because normally I would say my, I would say me or. But I wouldn't say I am in a structured format because, you know, normally we don't talk in [00:06:00] that structured format.
[00:06:00] We talk very loosely and with flow and with our personalities. So this is where it becomes a creative process. Watch how you say your words the entire day. Observe how you say anything, observe how you speak, how you talk. The way that you talk about yourself and just observe what your personal language is, what your grammar is, what your, um, sentence structure is and look at, just look how it is.
[00:06:30] It's very flowing. It's very easily said, and you speak however you want, because that's who you are. That's your personality. Now, imagine if you were to out of nowhere, just start saying, I am well. And just randomly throughout the day, I am wealthy. If you saw something that triggered you, right. Um, to think that affirmation, it doesn't fit in with the rest of your day.
[00:06:52] It doesn't fit in with the rest of the flow that you have when you speak in your language of how you speak, write your own, your own language. [00:07:00] So what I'm trying to hint at is say your affirmations, different, say them with more ease, with more flow. What I like to do is to start with the, I am sentence, but I build off of that.
[00:07:15] So let's say I'm going to, let's say I want to use the affirmation I am successful. Okay. So I'll start. I'm successful. But I won't stop there. I'll start letting it become a loose and elusive, a loose flow of words and sentences that flow. When I think of the term or the phrase I am successful. So I'll say I'm successful.
[00:07:39] Money always comes easily to me. I am always making so much money every single month. And my success flows to me all the time. Success is something that I attract effortlessly. Success is something that is in my life constantly and daily through all my achievements, all [00:08:00] my improvements on all my goals.
[00:08:02] I'm a successful person because I work hard because I do things that motivate me. And I do things that I love and success is always going to follow me wherever I go, because wherever I do something I love, I am going to be successful. So you see. It's flowing. It's not, I am successful. I am. I am. I did say I am a few times in there, but the purpose is that you're talking with a sense of flow.
[00:08:27] It's not structured. It's not your thing. Thinking of on what can I say to attract these things, to me, think of how you talk, think about your personal life and incorporate those things into your affirmation. So they become more free flowing and they become more real to you. How you say your affirmations change everything, because it's the way that you talk.
[00:08:48] It's the way that you speak, it's your language and everything that you say in a sentence is an affirmation. You know, you say I'm having a by day because blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Yeah. You can change [00:09:00] that. You can say I'm having a good day because it's not raining today. Something simple, you know, and all your affirmations is the way that you speak.
[00:09:08] Yeah. When you push forward and your affirmations and you let them become something that comes natural to you and you speak of your affirmations in a flowing state. And when I'm in flow state, I don't mean like you're intuitively connected, which we all are at all times, but you know, sometimes you feel that intuition and that spark a little bit more than others.
[00:09:32] And I just want it to be something that is natural for you. You don't have to think about it. What affirmations you want to say. It is a natural flow of state of speaking. You know, it's a natural way that you speak. You're talking like this because it's the truth to you. It's a natural form of your mentality.
[00:09:50] And that's what I'm trying to get at. I want it to be a natural form of your mentality. This is a part of your language, a part of your personality. And you speak like this because this is the honest [00:10:00] truth, too. Um, and the reason why you should say your affirmations like this, as I said before, is because it makes it more natural.
[00:10:08] And when stepping into the world of manifesting, you want it to be something that is natural to you. And I do understand at first it is going to take a while to shift your old beliefs, those old words and phrases that you used to say to something that favors you. But you want it to feel natural. You want it to feel like this is how you regularly talk.
[00:10:34] This is your life. This is reality for you. And it does feel weird at first I will. Um, um, I'm going to say my cat's in the bag, but literally she was just in a bag right now. So have you heard that noise? That's what that was. Um, but you want it to be a natural flow state. You want it to just fit in with your language and yeah.
[00:10:58] Like I was going to say, [00:11:00] it might feel weird at first it might feel like you're kind of lying to yourself because you're saying all these things that aren't real in this exact moment, but the purpose of affirmations is for it to become something natural. So when you start off by saying your affirmations, I am, I am, I am.
[00:11:18] And you just do repeated phrases. Like I am. It's great. Making it much harder for yourself to step into that normalize state. Of these are just words and phrases that I'm saying, because they're my life and they're true. And they're my reality. There's no sense of it being an affirmation, quote, unquote, like in the sense that I'm trying to attract this because this already exists.
[00:11:41] Do you know what I'm saying? That's what I'm trying to get at. And affirmations, like I've said have changed everything for me, the way that I stay them. Um, because I try to see them, like I said, in a flow state, I try to say that. Like they are true to me. And one of the things [00:12:00] that I'm really excited to share with I've manifest is, um, my manifestation boards, which I wasn't going to hint at this, but it has to do with affirmations.
[00:12:09] And the purpose of it really is to think about the way that you think, and to be mindful because I love talking about mindfulness and allow your words to be. A reality to let, let them be normalized to you, you know, and with the manifestation boards, you learn how to do that, but you also learn many ways to manifest and to attract that reality that you want through being mindful and being present and just actually being that person, you know, and I was listening to this, Dr.
[00:12:43] Dota spins a podcast yesterday, and it really got me inspired thinking about this because when you. The first parts of the law of attraction and manifesting. The first part is seeing what you are right now, coming to terms and being real with who you [00:13:00] are. Right. And that has to do with watching how you think, watching how you feel, watching your reactions and not even watching.
[00:13:08] It's really like observing and being mindful to how you talk and how you think and how you feel. Because this way you're able to say, okay, these are the things I need to change about myself. So I can actually manifest what I want to manifest. And it all comes back to affirmations. That's one of the first things you're going to be doing.
[00:13:26] Oh, my catch is grinding. That's one of the first things you're going to be doing. Thinking about the way that you talk, seeing what your beliefs are and your beliefs, you know, them when you feel them and you hear them in that voice, in your head, that's talking. And then when you actually speak about certain things, you see them then and there, once again, it's your words, it's the way that you speak.
[00:13:47] It's your language, it's your personality and how you're verbalizing your beliefs and everything. So I hope that makes sense. I hope that resonated. It changes the way you [00:14:00] think about affirmations, because like I said, it's really important how you say them, and I want you to try it for a week for a day and just see the way that you speak, see how you speak and analyze it and observe it, and just start to really understand where you're coming from right now.
[00:14:16] And what's the way that you're speaking. So you can shift it to becoming more normalized into the things that you actually. And my cat is going to keep crying. So yeah.
